Origin

Before the multiverse, and before the universe that preceded it (“The Land of Nod”), there was another universe called Prime.

In the final days of the Prime universe, one individual desperately worked to save it by creating a new type of matter. The individual’s experiments did not save Prime, but did lead to him becoming embedded in the fabric of the nascent universe that was forming to replace the dying Prime universe.

For some time, the individual’s consciousness could not coalesce in the new universe (“The Land of Nod”) because matter and radiation had not yet decoupled. As the universe grew and cooled, the individual’s consciousness began to awaken. They then began to understand what they had created and what they had become - a being of immense power, intimately tied to the The Land of Nod and its fate. As a nod to the experiments which had caused them to become such a being, they adopted the name The Vanishing Commutator.

Creation of the Multiverse

The Vanishing Commutator grew aware of the threat posed to the universe by a being called Chaos. Rather than see all life eradicated by Chaos, he devised a plan. He created a being called the Super Eon Annihilator, and granted him the ability to time travel, knowing that the utilization of this ability would lead to higher-dimensional fracturing of The Land of Nod. As a result of this fracturing, the hitherto eternal cycle of a new universe being born after the death of the previous would be altered, and a multiverse would be created instead. This would allow for the beings inhabiting The Land of Nod to survive and continue to thrive even in the event that Chaos was released from his prison.

When Chaos was freed by Vampira in 2021 CE, the plan for the creation of the multiverse was put into action. The Vanishing Commutator then passed on his role and his powers to the Super Eon Annihilator, and sacrificed himself to ensure that Chaos would not return in the mutiverse.
